Palm has officially released webOS 1.4 for the Sprint branded Pre and Pixi smartphones. No word yet as to when we will see a similar update for the Verizon Pre Plus and Pixi Plus.

Everybody panic! Actually, don’t.
A number of blogs are reporting on a story by OTR Global claiming that Palm has suddenly told Foxconn (the Taiwanese manufacturer building all of Palm’s handsets) to halt production of the Pre, Pre Plus, and Pixi Plus. This claim, it seems, is greatly exaggerated.

Verizon Wireless just announced the prices for both the Palm Pre Plus and the Palm Pixi Plus. It also said that the 3G Hotspot feature of both phones will require an additional monthly fee.

We spent a bit of time with the new Verizon branded Palm Pixi Plus at CES 2010. The new Pixi Plus comes in some real eye-catching colors, and even features WiFi, something the original lacked.
